OMA-P5000 $2200
Intelligent Alarm Dialer with Analog and Digital I/O

OMA-P5000

The OMA-P5000 'ISACC' (Intelligent System for Automated Control and Communication) is a unique device that combines monitoring, alarm and control capabilities all in one system. This unit, designed to monitor equipment and environmental conditions, has 16 inputs that can be configured as analog inputs, digital inputs or a combination of both analog and digital inputs. In addition, there are eight digital outputs and four analog outputs.

Along with control, ISACC offers communication. Upon an alarm, ISACC can dial up to eight phone numbers and communicate in voice or data with its built-in 300/1200 BPS modem. In the voice mode, SACC delivers alert messages in voice-synthesized English. In the data mode, ISACC can communicate with personnel at their computer terminals through standard phone lines and modems. The unit can also notify a central monitoring service by means of digital code. A local alarm is also provided for immediate action from qualified personnel. ISACC also has dialing commands that will wait for dial tones or beeper tones, or wait a specified number of seconds. Phone numbers with wait commands can be as long as 32 characters.

A variety of analog input ranges are available, including 4 to 20 mA, 0 to 5 volts and thermistors. Thermistors inputs report actual temperature readout; current and voltage inputs can be scaled to report values in engineering units such as PSI, GPM and RPM. Digital inputs may be used for pulse counting, monitoring contact closures or reading TTL level signals. A datalogger is built into the ISACC. All 16 inputs may be stored internally and retrieved at any time via modem or through the local RS-232 communications port. Logging intervals can be as short as 1 second or as long as 18 hours. Up to 512 records may be stored into memory. When the data buffer is full, the logger will overwrite the oldest data and add the most recent. Storage can be initiated by specific events or from a time schedule. All data is stored in the systemÆs non-volatile memory. Time is kept by an on-board real-time clock, which has its own battery backup. ISSAC can be set up from a dumb terminal or from any PC-based computer. Terminal emulation software is included to interface with ISACC. ISACC has an easy-to-use command line interpreter to enter phone numbers, input types, alarm points, lookup tables, etc. ISACC also has an on-board 'C' compiler, which makes it possible to write custom programs to implement almost any monitoring and control algorithm. The ISACC C language contains the standard C commands plus special commands for reading inputs, dialing numbers and accessing ISACCÆs other I/O functions.

Optional SWD-MGR software is available for automatic retreival of information, and many other features.
